Ogbuoji- APC good alternative if PDP chooses wrong candidates in 2015

Ebonyi South senatorial district of Ebonyi state at the National Assembly representative , Senator Sonni Ogbuoji Wednesday  cautioned the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the country to guard against the politics of predetermining the candidates who would occupy certain political offices contrary to the wishes of the people in the forthcoming 2015 general election.
Addressing newsmen in his hometown, the Senator who called on the party to take critical look the antecedents and contributions of candidates seeking political offices in the 2015 election noted that any mistake in that direction could spell doom for the party as it could make the All Progressive Congress, APC, a viable alternative for the electorates and other candidates to champion their electioneering campaigns.
Ogbuoji who equally called on politicians not to be carried away by the ongoing hullabaloo about the 2015 general election but rather focus on delivering democratic dividends to the people of the state, enjoined them to ensure that they impact positively on the socio-economic well being of their people at all times.
“If another person interprets APC, as Armoured Personnel Carrier, then you know that there is danger. So, APC must be viewed as a viable alternative if PDP makes monumental errors. PDP can only survive the onslaught of APC, if the party does not commit errors that the people will not forgive because the people will vote according to their conscience and I encourage them to vote according to their conscience.
“For me there is no reason for this hullabaloo of 2015; everybody should be focused on giving his best today, so that by 2015, let the people adjudge you as qualified from what they have seen about your antecedent that you are qualified because the party will be making a lot of mistakes if for any reason, the party predetermines who should emerge and if the person doesn’t have a good track record, party is already doomed because it is going to be an election based on the quality of the candidate.
“It is a huge disappointment that those of us who are politicians under Governor Martin Elechi are more interested in the next election.
As a matter of fact, sometimes, I think that those who are so anxious of the governorship election in 2015 would wish that Chief Martin Elechi dies in office before 2015 so that they can come up faster; otherwise, why should we not wait? Why should we not be patient? If we all know that it is God that gives power and this power is already tenurished why shouldn’t we be patient till 2015 before we start attacking things?”
He appreciated the Governor of Ebonyi state, Chief Martin Elechi for his doggedness towards the infrastructural development of the state, stressing that Governor Elechi had put modalities in place not only to ensure that the state catches up with other states within the south east geopolitical zone of the country but also, overtake them in every facets of human endeavour.
“It is unfortunate that in politics most times we don’t find statesmen who are politicians because as they say politicians are always interested in the next election but statesmen are interested in delivering democracy dividends first to the people before they start talking about the election and on that note I want to say that our Governor, Chief Martin   is a statesman because right from 2007 when he came into office, he has never really focused on the next election rather his focus has always been how to transform, change and move the forward.
He is interested on how do I give these people a sense of belonging, how do I tell this people that even though we are waking up late among our brothers in the eastern states, yet we will overtake them; Chief Elechi has continued to demonstrate in all ramification that we will not just catch up with our brothers in the south eastern states but that we will overtake them through what he is doing”
