Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has advised youths in the state to see the problems currently confronting the nation as a challenge for hardwork perseverance and determination required of them in nation building.
The governor spoke at a ceremony marking the 2013 Children’s Day held at the Heroes Square, Owerri.
Educating the children on some subjects such as Mathematics, Integrated Science, Civics and English, the governor pointed out that as leaders of tomorrow, they should shun laziness, careless and fatalistic attitude and to exhibit self-confidence, determination and courage in their studies to forge ahead in a challenging competitive society.
“In any situation you find yourself do not allow anybody to discourage you no matter how tasking on daunting it may be because if somebody can be a governor, president, millionaire, member of National Assembly , minister or commissioner, you to can be any of these”.
Okorocha, who acknowledged salutes for a march-pass from school children, members of his State Executive Council (SEC) and women groups led by his wife, Nkechi, also enjoined the youths to be self packaging to attract honour, respect and dignity before the public.
