IGBOS MUST STAND AS ONE TILL NIGERIA HEARS US - Ben Kalu

I strongly believe in the fairness of this cause (Njiko Igbo) and criticisms or not , there is no going back. Whether we achieve it now or later depends on our determination, dedication and more of the people's issue than a one man's show. Take a stand and see things differently, both as a Nigerian and an Igbo man. In the words of the scriptures, "the voice of a poor man is not heard". Keeping quiet is a mere reflection of our "poverty", not just of the pocket but more of the minds. On the other hand, the strong echoes of our voice across the land and upon every high places, is a courageous reverse of the status quo and should be well celebrated above the pettiness of cheap politics.

The evidence of our growth is not in the pulling down of ourselves, but should be in the lifting and supporting of one another for the common good. How well we do this determines how serious we are taken by the observers as well as how far we go in our pursuit of what ordinarily should be ours.

My single birthday wish today as I celebrate my Birthday, is that my people the Igbos  should for once stand together with a common dream to balance this National scale that is tilted against us for in the words of the scripture " an unfair balance is an abomination unto the Lord " and let me join my voice with Dr. ORJI Kalu, in agreement, that the bane and blessing of Nigeria lie in righting the wrongs committed against my people - the Igbos. Our problem as a Nation has the spiritual part.

In this era of compensating or wanting to compensate every agitator that complains about wrong doing, who is listening to the pains in the heart of the Igbos? Rather, our sons for being the  disciples of the  non violent crusades preached by great minds like Ghandi and Mandela, are daily killed and dropped in various South Eastern Rivers, while those who have survived death and detention are threatened with treasonable felonies.

What a moment in our history as a people, what an injustice, what an unfair balance, am just wondering when these are going to be corrected. Am pained because yes, "There was a country " which we called our own, but whether or not that country still exist, is for you as an igbo son to answer.

For me the choice is clear and has always been, to stand with the Truth and for Justice and equity, never to auction my integrity for any piece of silver from the highest bidder. Deferring immediate gratification for tomorrow's greatest gain comes with a price, but still the reward outweighs the pain. THINK ABIA, THINK NIGERIA, THINK IGBO. Greetings from Njiko Igbo Australia.
