Police Has Been Compromised in Rivers PDP Crisis – Rep

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dakuku Peterside, has accused the Police of being compromised in the way it is handling the crisis rocking the Rivers State chapter of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Peterside, who disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the refusal of the police to obey orders from various courts of competent jurisdiction as it affects the crisis in the state was one of the pointers that it has been compromised.
He said; “As it is right now, it is very clear to all that the police itself has been compromised, I don’t know by whom. But, they are actually not functioning at their optimal. You may have noticed that cases of kidnapping are on the increase on a daily basis and armed robbery is also on the increase and other related crimes. All of these are traceable to the fact that the police is not functioning the way it should function.”
